The B2B portal of Amazon.com accounted for 23% of business supplies purchases last year by companies that purchased from Amazon Business, according to a survey of 400 U.S. companies by research firm Martin Wilde Associates and Office Products International.

Amazon Business accounted for 23% of its customers’ total business supplies purchases in 2016, a share that is set to rise significantly in the next two years, according to a report released this week.

The report, “Piranha Business: Investigating the Appeal of Amazon Business,” was produced by research firm Martin Wilde Associates and publisher Office Products International.

24% of respondents had never purchased business supplies from Amazon Business for their company prior to last year.

The report is based on a survey conducted earlier this year of 400 U.S. businesses who had purchased any type of business supplies from Amazon Business over the prior 12 months. 24% of respondents had never purchased business supplies from Amazon Business for their company prior to last year.

“One of the key findings of the report is the extent to which previous familiarity with the Amazon brand has assisted the successful growth of Amazon Business in the U.S. market, Office Products International said in a news article on the study this week.
