E-commerce and content management vendor Episerver said Tuesday it has purchased Optivo, which provides email and omnichannel marketing services. The purchase price was not disclosed.

Berlin-based Optivo was part of Germany’s Deutsche Post DHL Group. The purchase will allow Episerver clients to create, orchestrate and execute customer interactions across channels including email and SMS, Episerver says in a statement. The purchase comes on the heels of Episerver’s recent acquisition of Peerius, an omnichannel personalization vendor. Episerver says Optivo will complement Peerius’ machine learning-based predictive analytics. Episerver provides software for social media and business-to-business and retail e-commerce sites.

Episerver is the product of the merger of Ektron Inc., a provider of content management software, and Episerver AB, a Stockholm, Sweden-based provider of e-commerce technology and services for B2B as well as retail e-commerce operations. Private equity firm Accel-KKR combined the two companies in January 2015, and the new company serves 8,800 customers from 30 countries, the company says. The merged company took the Episerver name.

Episerver clients include sewing machine manufacturer Janome America Inc. and Kimball Midwest, an industrial products distributor and No. 127 in the B2B E-Commerce 300.
