Ken Worzel becomes president of Nordstrom.com as the retailer shakes up executive duties.

Nordstrom Inc., aiming to “accelerate its e-commerce, digital and mobile efforts,” has named six-year Nordstrom executive Ken Worzel president of Nordstrom.com, a new title. The retailer also shifted the responsibilities of its co-presidents.

Previously, Nordstrom co-president Erik Nordstrom oversaw e-commerce for the retailer, which includes Nordstrom.com as well as off-price site NordstromRack.com and flash-sale business HauteLook. Erik Nordstrom will now be responsible for the Nordstrom brand, including Nordstrom stores, Nordstrom.com and Trunk Club, in addition to customer care, marketing and supply chain.

Since 2010, Worzel has been executive vice president of strategy and development. Prior to Nordstrom, No. 18 in the Internet Retailer 2016 Top 500 Guide, Worzel was a consultant and worked with Nordstrom for 13 years while at Marakon Associates and McKinsey & Co.

“Through his six years as a leader at Nordstrom and many years prior to that working alongside our executive team, Ken has gained a deep understanding of how our e-commerce, digital and mobile efforts play an integral role in providing customers a differentiated experience through service, personalization and convenience,” Erik Nordstrom said Wednesday in a statement announcing Worzel’s appointment. “Ken comes into this position with expertise around Nordstrom.com’s current position and a strong vision for its future potential that will continue to bring the company a tremendous amount of value as we evolve our strategy and build on our success.”

Nordstrom reported online sales across Nordstrom.com, NordstromRack.com and HauteLook.com of $840 million in the fiscal second quarter ended July 30. That was a 13.2% increase from $742 million in fiscal Q2 2015. Online sales accounted for nearly a quarter of Nordstrom Inc.’s sales in the second quarter.

Co-president Blake Nordstrom will be responsible for the Nordstrom Rack brand, including Rack stores and NordstromRack.com/HauteLook, and he will oversee such corporate functions as finance, technology, legal and human resources, the retailer said. Blake previously oversaw Nordstrom and Rack stores.

Co-president Pete Nordstrom will continue his role in Nordstrom’s merchandising functions and store planning and remain closely involved in the Nordstrom brand, including marketing.

Nordstrom in 2015 named Pete and Erik as co-presidents with their brother Blake. Blake had been Nordstrom’s president since 2000, while his brothers had worked as executive vice presidents.
