Macys.com will gain new senior executives next month as the March 31 retirement of chief stores officer Ron Klein brings about several top management changes at Macy’s Inc., the multichannel operator of the Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s retail chains. Macy’s Inc. is No. 17 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide.

Jeff Kantor, president of merchandising of Macys.com, will become chairman of Macys.com, effective Feb. 13. Reporting to Kantor will be Kent Anderson, who will keep his job as president of Macys.com.

Kantor will also join the company’s executive committee and report to Jeffrey Gennette, Macy’s chief merchandising officer. Gennette will take on additional responsibilities for overseeing marketing and Macys.com and coordinating the company’s ‘omni-channel’ retailing strategy, which seeks to coordinate stores, e-commerce sites and mobile commerce to “serve customers whenever and wherever they want to shop,” Macy’s says. Gennette will continue to report to Macy’s chairman, president and CEO Terry Lundgren.

Kantor succeeds Peter Sachse as chairman of Macys.com. Sachse, meanwhile, will replace Klein as chief stores officer. Sachse, who will also continue to report to Lundgren, will retain overall responsibility for the company’s omni-channel retailing strategy, the company says.

Sachse will relinquish his current job as chief marketing officer, a position that goes to Martine Reardon, executive vice president for marketing. Reardon will be responsible for all marketing, advertising, social media and related operations.
