Riding growth among small retailers, general merchandise wholesaler DollarDays.com`s August sales more than quadrupled year-ago sales.

Riding growth among independent small retailers, August sales at general merchandise wholesaler Dollar Days International’s DollarDays.com more than quadrupled sales of August 2002, president Marc Joseph tells InternetRetailer.com.

Joseph attributes the growth to the ongoing expansion of the number of small independent retailers and to his web site’s success in becoming better known through Internet searches. DollarDays.com carries more than 25,000 products, helping it to produce good results in Internet searches, he says.

DollarDays` volume has grown 30% a year in both dollar value and number of transactions since launching in 1998, Joseph says. The company, which sells to retailers only through the web, caters to many small retailers who prefer to order supplies online late at night after regular store hours, Joseph says.
