Tuesday Morning Corp., the Dallas-based deep discount, closeout retail chain, successfully bid for the $6 million inventory of Pets.com. Over 500,000 items for pets, as well as the Pets.com signature sock puppet, will be sold 50% to 80% off web site retail at 441 Tuesday Morning stores across the country. The liquidation is one of the largest ever for the pet industry.

This is not the first time Tuesday Morning has undertaken the resale of such a large block of inventory. In August 2000, it acquired the $10 million inventory of ToySmart.com.

Tuesday Morning operates 441 deep-discount, closeout home furnishings and gift stores in North America. These stores open seven times a year on an event basis during the retail industry`s peak selling seasons.
