Because e-commerce accounts for almost 12% of West Marine Product’s sales, it’s no surprise the boating products and accessories retailer overhauled its website in 2016. The retailer’s e-commerce team redesigned and improved the site’s apparel pages, updated its store locator pages and added video functionality to its mobile website. West Marine CEO Matt Hyde also said the team was working behind the scenes on a significant launch to be announced. The retailer is the largest player in the boating products and marine lifestyle retail industry, with a dense geographic footprint of around 256 retail stores.
