Carter’s Inc. began a big e-commerce push in 2014. In 2016, online sales were helping to drive sales growth for the kid’s apparel brand and e-retailer. “Our performance in the quarter reflects significant growth in online sales and higher demand from international customers,” Michael D. Casey ,chairman and CEO said in a statement about the third fiscal quarter of 2016, ended Oct. 1. During the quarter, Carter’s retail segment sales increased $19.8 million, or 6.7%, to $314.7 million. Carter’s retail comparable sales increased 2.1%, comprised of e-commerce comparable sales growth of 25.2%, partially offset by a stores comparable sales decrease of 4.1%.
