The retailer, No. 415 in the 2017 Internet Retailer Top 500, announced that Mike Demko has taken over the top spot, replacing interim CEO Stefan Pepe, who had replaced CEO Chad Arnold, who left the position at the end of 2016 because “he wanted to take his entrepreneurial career in a new direction,” according to a company spokeswoman.  Pepe will continue on with Door to Door Organics as chairman of the board.

Demko is no stranger to the online grocery space, having served as vice president of operations at FreshDirect LLC (No. 79) from 2011-2013. Most recently Demko served as the chief operating officer at mobile commerce platform provider and mobile app builder GPShopper.

“His proven ability to quickly identify, assess and act on market opportunities will greatly benefit Door to Door Organics as we continue to grow our customer base and roll out new offerings that allow us to provide customers with the highest quality, healthy, local and sustainable food and ingredients and eliminate the stress of cooking healthy meals with incredible recipes and content,” Pepe said.
