Office Depot Inc., with nearly $3 billion in annual web sales to business and government customers, has hired a new CEO steeped in executive experience at computer electronics manufacturers and online sellers Lenovo Group Ltd. and Dell Inc.

Gerry Smith, chief operating officer and executive vice president of Lenovo, will succeed Roland Smith as CEO of Office Depot on Feb. 27, Office Depot said today. Roland Smith has served as CEO since 2013 and is retiring.

Gerry Smith filled several past roles at Lenovo, including chief operating officer of its Enterprise Business Group and Personal Computing Group, and senior vice president of the computer electronics company’s global supply chain. Prior to Lenovo, he had several executive positions at Dell, including one in which he developed Dell’s Singapore Design Center as vice president and general manager of displays.

At Office Depot, Smith will oversee a company that is No. 42 in the B2B E-Commerce 300, which lists the company as having more than $2.8 billion in 2016 B2B e-commerce sales. The company’s Business Services Division caters to businesses of various sizes and industries; federal, state and local government agencies, and educational institutions, among others.

Dell is No. 16 in the B2B E-Commerce 300.
