A large dermatology practice in Miami is launching a digital office visitation service in Florida with plans to expand to 13 other states.

Advanced Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery, a Miami-based group of dermatology practices with over 150 locations in multiple states, is working with telehealth platform provider Iagnosis Inc. to launch online dermatology visits. Advanced Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery has locations in Florida, Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Maryland, Michigan, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Virginal and Wyoming.

The online service, however, is only live in Florida. The Iagnosis DermatologistOnCall system lets patients schedule an appointment and consult with a certified dermatologist for more than 3,000 medical conditions affecting the skin, hair and nails, typically within 24 hours of the patient submitting a preferred time to see a provider. Patients who have created an online profile may upload photos of their skin condition via the DermatologistOnCall platform, receive answers to medical questions and select to receive care from a provider licensed in their state. The cost per online consultation is $59.

Our new online dermatology offering to patients not only keeps pace with trends in tele-healthcare and consumer demand for greater scheduling flexibility, but it ensures that patients get the most appropriate care for their condition, says Advanced Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery CEO Dr. Matt Leavitt. With dermatology being such a visual specialty area, online visits using digital photos work extremely well.

Through the online visit, the patient will receive a diagnosis and personalized treatment plan for medical conditions affecting the skin, hair, or nails, Leavitt says. Both new and existing patients in Florida can select one of the Advanced Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery available dermatology specialists through the new online visit service, the company says.

Advanced Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery is the latest telehealth customer for Iagnosis. In September, Iagnosis began offering similar telehealth visits for dermatology with Walgreen Co.
