Michelle Pearlman has been on the apparel retailer’s board since May 2011.

Women’s apparel chain New York & Co. Inc. has a new head of e-commerce.

Online retail veteran Michelle Pearlman is the retailer’s new chief marketing officer and executive vice president of e-commerce. She’s no stranger to the company, having been on its board of directors since May 2011. New York & Co. is No. 217 in the Internet Retailer 2016 Top 500 Guide.

Pearlman brings to her new role an extensive amount of retail experience. She was executive vice president of e-commerce and direct marketing at Ann Inc. (whose parent company, Ascena Retail Group, is ranked No. 76) from September 2004 until August 2008 before joining Sears Holdings Corp. (No. 14) as president of the jewelry business from September 2008 to -September 2010. Most recently, she has worked as a senior adviser at private equity firm Irving Place Capital, which invested in New York & Co. in 2002.

“Under Michelle’s leadership, we expect to more fully capitalize on New York & Co.’s differentiation in specialty retail by elevating our key assets–exclusive merchandise, sub-brands and celebrity partnerships–while furthering our strength in e-commerce,” said CEO Greg Scott.

According to Top500Guide.com, New York & Co. generated an Internet Retailer-estimated $126.4 million in online sales last year, up 18% from $107.1 million in 2014. In August, the retailer announced that it would begin selling on Amazon.com Inc. (No. 1) in October.
