The conference will be in Copenhagen next fall and follow the second U.S. Shoptalk conference.

Shoptalk is building on the momentum of its U.S. conference, this week announcing it will host its first Shoptalk Europe event in Copenhagen, Denmark, in October 2017.

The first Shoptalk conference, held this past spring in Las Vegas, drew more than 3,000 retail and technology executives and investors, Shoptalk says. Founder and chairman Anil Aggarwal says he anticipates more than 5,000 will attend the U.S. show in March.

“We think the entire retail and e-commerce ecosystem needs to engage in a whole new dialogue and that’s what we’ve initiated,” Aggarwal says.

Organizers expect the show in Denmark to draw more than 2,000 attendees over three days. It will have more than 250 speakers, including local, regional and global professionals, Zia Daniell Wigder, Shoptalk chief content officer, writes in a LinkedIn post announcing Shoptalk Europe.

Shoptalk is following a similar path as Money 20/20, a financial technology and payments industry conference Aggarwal co-founded in 2012 and later sold, although he remains chairman of it. Money 20/20 held its first European show in Copenhagen in April. Katy Fryatt, who launched the Money 20/20 Europe show, will oversee Shoptalk Europe.

Shoptalk earlier this month hired Sucharita Mulpuru, a leading voice in the e-commerce and retail industry, as its chief retail strategist. Mulpuru had been a vice president and principal analyst at Forrester Research Inc.
