Hal Lawton will oversee eBay North America.

EBay Inc. announced today several executive changes ahead of its planned split with PayPal, including hiring The Home Depot Inc. executive Hal Lawton as the online marketplace’s head of eBay North America.

Lawton was most recently senior vice president of hardlines for Home Depot, No. 10 in the newly published Internet Retailer 2015 Top 500 Guide. Before that he was president and senior vice president of online, where he oversaw the strategy, sales and operations of the retailer’s online channels. In that capacity he was a featured speaker at the Internet Retailer Conference and Exhibition. Before joining Home Depot, Lawton was an associate principal at McKinsey & Co. and a process engineer at Champion International Corp.

EBay also hired Marie Oh Huber, an Agilent Technologies Inc. executive, as its general counsel. The position had been filled by Michael Jacobsen, who plans to leave eBay after its split with PayPal.

And Scott Cutler, who had been the New York Stock Exchange’s executive vice president in charge of global listings, will serve as president of ticket marketplace StubHub.

The moves help solidify the leadership team that will work with CEO-designee Devin Wenig as the company prepares for its split with PayPal. “As we prepare to launch the new eBay, they add strong breadth and depth to my leadership team,” Wenig says. Current eBay president and CEO John Donahoe will be stepping down after the split, though he will become the chairman of the board of the new PayPal company.
