Held in Chicago next June during IRCE, the world’s largest e-commerce event, the awards ceremony will honor e-retailers’ outstanding achievements across multiple categories

Chicago, Ill., December 16, 2014—Internet Retailer, the world’s leading publisher of strategic e-commerce business intelligence, today announced the inaugural Internet Retailer Excellence Awards, which recognize the outstanding achievements made by innovative online retailers and consumer brand manufacturers in the past year. Internet Retailer will host the Excellence Awards at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place hotel on June 3, 2015, as the Internet Retailer Conference & Exhibition (IRCE) convenes for its 11th straight year. Internet Retailer serves as the official media sponsor of IRCE, which will occur at McCormick Place West in Chicago from June 2-5, 2015.

“We are creating the Internet Retailer Excellence Awards as an annual event in response to the growing role e-commerce plays in the global economy and because of the benefit that any major industry receives when it recognizes leading contributors whose outstanding achievements set a higher standard of performance for all competitors to aspire to,” says Internet Retailer Publisher Jack Love. “And after more than a decade of researching and measuring the performance of e-retailers around the world, Internet Retailer is uniquely positioned to objectively provide this recognition.”

The Excellence Awards’ recipients will be determined by a team comprised of Internet Retailer senior editors and e-commerce industry experts. Based on their performances across multiple categories in 2014, online retailers worldwide will be nominated as contenders for the following awards: Web Redesign of the Year, Comeback of the Year, Newcomer of the Year, E-Retail Growth Award, Marketer of the Year, Best Video of the Year, Mobile Commerce Award, B2B E-Commerce Player of the Year, Global E-Retailer of the Year and the Internet Retailer of the Year. E-retailers can nominate themselves for several award categories; the Newcomer, Global E-Retailer, E-Retail Growth and Internet Retailer of the Year Awards, however, will be determined by e-commerce metrics culled from IR Research.

A limited number of tickets will be available for e-retailers that are not award nominees but plan on attending the main conference days of IRCE. E-commerce solutions providers can attend the Excellence Awards by procuring a sponsorship package.
