Daimler Trucks North America LLC, which manufactures, sells and services tractor-trailers, buses and replacement parts across the United States, Canada and Mexico, last week launched its first e-commerce site for replacement parts.

“Daimler Trucks North America is committed to providing the most innovative tools to improve the ease of doing business,” e-commerce manager Pam Perez says. “By utilizing the state-of-the-art cross-reference parts database on PinnacleTruckParts.com, customers will save time and money throughout the parts procurement process.”

Daimler Trucks North America, or DTNA, says the B2B e-commerce site was designed to let buyers view available inventory at the company’s network of independent dealers across all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Although the company says it started connecting its dealers to the PinnacleTrucksParts.com last month, it declines to say how many are already connected, noting only that all dealers are expected to be connected to the site by the end of February 2015.

The new site was also designed to connect with DTNA’s network of company-owned parts distribution centers in the United States. DTNA operates six U.S. distribution centers —in Atlanta; Chicago; Reno, NV; Bridgeport, NJ; Canton, OH; and Memphis, TN. Customers must log into the site with their account number.

DTNA also operates a parts distribution center in Mexico, in San Luis; and one in Canada, in Calgary, Alberta. It declines to comment on whether these locations will also eventually be connected to the new web site.

DTNA’s brands are Freightliner and Western Star heavy-duty trucks; Detroit Engines, and Thomas Built Buses. Daimler Trucks North America, which is based in Portland, OR, is a unit of Germany’s Daimler AG, a car and truck manufacturer.
