Peter Glusker will lead the multichannel retailer’s business integration and operations division.

Target Corp. has hired a former Gilt Groupe Inc. executive to lead its business integration and operations division and will help to integrate companies Target has already acquired and will acquire in the future. Peter Glusker was the vice chairman and CEO of Gilt Groupe Japan before joining Target. He started May 19.

Target, No. 18 in the Internet Retailer 2014 Top 500 Guide, has been on an acquisition spree of late. Last year alone it acquired web skin care and cosmetics retailer DermStore.com, Cooking.com Inc. and Chefs Catalog.

“We’re excited to welcome Peter to Target, where he will focus on unlocking the full value of these and future strategic acquisitions,” says Casey Carl, president of multichannel, Target. Carl did not reveal future acquisition plans.

“I was drawn to this opportunity because I see a new level of energy coming from Target—from a renewed commitment to speed and innovation to the desire to try things that have never been done before,” he says.

Glusker held various positions at Gilt Groupe (No. 59), including head of business development and international operations. Before Gilt, he worked in digital media at CBS Corp. and Viacom Inc.
