Sarah Bryar spent six years working for Amazon.com.

Online women’s eyeglass retailer Rivet & Sway has a new CEO.

Sarah Bryar wins promotion from her previous 18-month job as the merchant’s vice president of product. Co-founder John Lusk, who worked as CEO since the retailer launched in 2011, takes over as chief marketing officer and keeps a seat on the board of directors, the merchant said today.

“It was always my vision to hand-select a woman to lead Rivet& Sway, and Sarah is the perfect executive to take the reins,” Lusk said.  “She has a rare blend of management, operations and e-commerce expertise, making her the ideal executive to lead the growth of the organization.  As a company focused exclusively on women, Sarah brings the insight and knowledge we need to flourish.”

Bryar also has worked for Amazon.com Inc., No. 1 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide.

Amazon hired her in 2000 as senior product manager, marketing/toys retail, according to her LinkedIn profile. She eventually worked as director of Amazon’s Associates Program, an affiliate network, before leaving the e-retailer in 2006. Her experience also includes marketing consulting and running an online news site for parents called ParentMap.
