Mobile traffic has grown from 12% a year ago to 30% today.

Mobile shoppers at From You Flowers LLC are increasing in number—tremendously so. The same-day flower delivery e-retailer is responding with a mobile commerce web site designed to streamline the process of ordering flowers on a smartphone.

“Roughly 30% of the visitors on our web site are shopping on a mobile device today, compared with 12% a year ago,” says Michael Chapin, CEO of From You Flowers. “Our mobile site and other mobile products we will unveil in the next few months demonstrate our commitment to our customers and their need to shop in a fast, efficient manner.”

Now, instead of zooming in on tiny product images and trying to use buttons meant for a computer monitor, smartphone shoppers can view pictures, text and buttons that fit the size of their screens. Shoppers on the site, which was designed to reflect the look and feel of the desktop site, can view more than 400 floral gifts.

From You Flowers, which built the m-commerce site in-house, is using technology and services from Chase Paymentech to give customers the option of saving their credit card information, making any order after the first simpler and faster. The payment information is stored and secured by Chase. Customers can also sign into their From You Flowers accounts on the m-commerce site to access previously stored billing and shipping addresses.

“We know the mobile shopping trend is picking up steam,” says Stacey Doornbos, marketing manager. “We want to make sure that wherever our customers are searching for us, whether it’s on their phone, desktop or tablet, we are there offering an easy-to-use site that lets them find the perfect flower arrangement and checkout in minutes. As future technology arrives, we will ensure that we will constantly enhance our site to suit our customers’ online shopping needs.”
