Local is hot, specifically online offers of deals from local merchants. There are many sources consumers can turn to for local deals, which involves some time and effort—or an overflowing in-box. This is why comparison shopping site PriceGrabber has created DealGrabber, a new iPhone app dedicated to the local deals category found at Deals.PriceGrabber.com.

Consumers can browse thousands of deals in their areas, PriceGrabber says, from a variety of local deal web sites, including Groupon, LivingSocial, Restaurant.com, Eversave, Gilt City and others. Shoppers can search for deals using a map view, a list view or a hybrid of both. In addition, shoppers can view detailed information including category, price, value, location and expiration date. Consumers also can share their favorite deals on Facebook.

Consumers can activate the GPS system on their phone to automatically set a location; e-mail deal reminders to themselves; filter and sort deals by category, location, price range or keyword; personalize the home screen to make searching quicker and easier; and save favorite searches to quickly check for deals anytime.
