E-retailers on Shopify’s e-commerce platform can now manage their listings on Amazon’s marketplace through Shopify.

Some e-retailers running their shops on Shopify Inc.’s web-based e-commerce platform can now co-market their products on Amazon’s marketplace through an integration the vendor made broadly available in December.

Only merchants listing products for sale in U.S. currency can use the service at this time.

Shopify has been working with Amazon for some time on various initiatives to link the companies’ services. Amazon began referring merchants who used its Amazon Webstore technology platform to Shopify’s platform when it began phasing out Webstore in 2015.

The companies worked together to create tools that let Webstore users migrate to Shopify with minimal downtime. At that time Shopify’s chief operating officer, Harley Finkelstein, told Internet Retailer an integration that lets Shopify merchants sell goods on Amazon’s marketplace managed through Shopify’s platform was already in the works. Amazon shuttered Webstore last year.

E-retailers running on Shopify already can turn on the ability to use Login and Pay with Amazon, Amazon’s payment gateway that lets consumers use their Amazon credentials and stored payment information on other e-commerce sites. They also can use Fulfillment by Amazon to fulfill orders placed on their own websites. Shopify’s platform launched in 2006 and the Ottawa, Canada-based vendor went public in 2015.

(No. 976). One-third of the 1,000 largest e-retailers in North America sell through Amazon’s marketplace, according to Top500Guide.com research.

Shopify, which mainly works with small and medium-sized businesses, reported in November that the value of goods sold via its e-retailer client’s sites grew 100% year over year to $3.8 billion in the third quarter.

In November, e-commerce platform vendor BigCommerce and eBay Inc. debuted an integration that lets e-retailers running on BigCommerce’s platform manage eBay sales. BigCommerce has 17 e-retailers in the Top 1000 as clients.
