Manhattan Associates, Inc. (NASDAQ: MANH) today announced that Columbia Sportswear Company (NASDAQ:COLM), owner of a portfolio of leading active apparel and footwear brands, has implemented Manhattan Associates’ Labor Management Solution (LMS) to drive productivity and enhance employee engagement at its U.S. distribution centers (DCs).
Columbia desired additional insight into the allocation and productivity of its workforce and sought a sophisticated labor management tool to complement its existing solutions. Manhattan’s LMS offering proved a strong fit for Columbia’s needs, with the tool’s mobility capabilities serving as a key selling point. Manhattan’s Distribution Management (DM) Mobile application enables Columbia’s DC managers to address any operational issue directly from the floor, via a mobile tablet. This freedom from the back office facilitates greater interaction across teams, speeds issue resolution and drives workforce productivity.
“Columbia Sportswear has been designing and marketing high quality active and outdoor products for more than 75 years,” said Dan Dougherty, vice president, global distribution, Columbia Sportswear. “One of our top priorities has always been timely delivery to our valuable wholesale customers, as well as directly to consumers. Ensuring team efficiency and productivity is a key strategic focus for the company as we strive to consistently deliver on that promise. Manhattan Associates has demonstrated both significant industry expertise and a dedication to our continued success via long-term warehouse operations support, and we look forward to working with the company in an expanded capacity.”
The LMS implementation represents an expansion of Manhattan’s long-standing relationship with Columbia Sportswear, who deployed Manhattan’s Warehouse Management System (WMS) in the U.S. in 1999 and has since expanded use of the solution across its U.S., French and Canadian DCs.
“Manhattan Associates understands the challenges of managing inventory and labor forces across a complex, distributed network,” said Peter Schnorbach, senior director, product management, Manhattan Associates. “Our customers require visibility into all facets of warehouse and labor management in order to drive business growth, and we’re committed to delivering this critical insight. We’re proud to have enduring relationships with leading brands like Columbia Sportswear and to contribute to their ongoing success.”
