Stord has acquired Shipwire from CEVA Logistics, broadening its U.S. and international fulfillment network and adding Shipwire’s technology assets as competition intensifies among ecommerce logistics and software providers.

The transaction closed Jan. 1, Stord said. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The deal adds 12 fulfillment locations to Stord’s network and strengthens its presence in Europe and the United Kingdom. Stord will also retain access to CEVA’s global logistics infrastructure through Shipwire’s existing commercial agreements. CEVA operates in more than 170 countries and manages more than 120 million square feet of contract logistics warehouse space worldwide, according to the companies.

Stord said it also acquired Shipwire’s technology division. That brings additional order management system capabilities and proprietary business-to-business integrations into its software platform. Shipwire’s technology connects with more than 200 ecommerce storefronts, marketplaces and enterprise resource planning systems. Stord said it plans to integrate Shipwire’s artificial intelligence (AI) development work into its broader technology roadmap.

Founded in 2006, Shipwire built its business by providing global warehousing, shipping and fulfillment services to smaller and fast-growing ecommerce brands. It later expanded into full-service fulfillment for larger and bulkier products. Its customer base spans categories including apparel, consumer electronics, food and beverage, and health and beauty. Shipwire was acquired by Ingram Micro in 2011 and became part of CEVA in 2022 through CEVA’s purchase of Ingram Micro’s Commerce and Lifecycle Services business.

“Joining forces with Stord accelerates our logistics technology and intelligent supply chain vision,” Shipwire CEO Marcelo Wesseler said in a statement.

Stord CEO Sean Henry said the acquisition strengthens the company’s ability to support brands operating across multiple geographies and sales channels.

“This combination expands our network, deepens our technology capabilities and extends our global reach,” Henry said.

Shipwire customers will gain access to Stord’s fulfillment network and software tools, while Stord customers will benefit from expanded international coverage and continued connectivity to CEVA’s global infrastructure, the company said.

The acquisition follows a string of deals by Stord, including Fulfillment Works, ProPack, Pitney Bowes Ecommerce and Ware2Go from UPS, as the company continues to assemble a national and international fulfillment platform.

Stord said the transaction comes after a strong holiday shipping season and alongside continued investment in new fulfillment capacity, including a multiyear expansion in Kentucky.
