Online mattress retailer Leesa Sleep and home furnishings retailer West Elm announced a partnership in the U.K., which expands upon the brand’s alliance that launched in the United States last year.
Shoppers based in the U.K. now can try out the Leesa mattress at any West Elm retail location, including stores at Tottenham Court Road, Westfield London and Kingston Upon Thames, before buying the mattress online at Leesa.co.uk or through the West Elm store. West Elm, which is a division of Williams-Sonoma Inc.’s portfolio of brands, also will sell Leesa’s recently launched hybrid pillow. Williams-Sonoma is No. 25 in the Internet Retailer 2018 Top 1000.
Since its launch in 2015, Leesa (No. 226) has donated one mattress for every 10 sold, and to-date it has donated more than 30,000 mattresses, the retailer says.

- E-commerce software company WebLinc raised $6 million in funding from Montage Capital and Partners for Growth. The investment will allow the company “to accelerate our programs to get our great products in [commerce agencies’ and retailers’] hands,” said Darren C. Hill, CEO and co-founder of WebLinc. Some of WebLinc’s clients include Lonely Planet, Reformation and Buzzfeed.

Personalization software company Monetate has named Stephen Collins as its CEO. Collins was formerly president and chief financial officer of AI technology and advertising company Quantcast, CEO and director at digital marketing company Bazaarvoice and chief financial officer at advertising serving services company DoubleClick.
- Global digital agency Wunderman has acquired commerce agency Gorilla Group, and it will become part of Wunderman Commerce. With 370 employees, Gorilla Group works with B2B and direct-to-consumer brands across the manufacturing, distribution, apparel, retail, health and beauty, food and beverage markets. Wunderman Commerce works with brands to develop Amazon marketing and e-commerce strategies. “This acquisition gives Wunderman Commerce a wider footprint across North America while also presenting an opportunity for our global clients to access the knowledge and skills of one of the best commerce experience teams out there,” says Neil Stewart, global CEO of Wunderman Commerce
- E-commerce API platform company Moltin has named Steve Green vice president of sales. With more than 20 years of experience scaling sales teams, Green will help scale Moltin’s U.S. sales operations. Prior to Moltin, Green was sales operations and strategy leader at app development company Quick Base, where he was in charge of more than 70 salespeople. Before Quick Base, Green was vice president of sales at interactive selling platform company Vee24. Moltin also recently raised $8 million in Series A funding, appointed Jamus Driscoll as CEO in February 2018 and launched an app-free mobile self-checkout with apparel retailer Stance. The company plans to announce more applications this year.
