Macy’s names a Home Depot technology executive as its chief technology officer

Macy's recruits a former Home Depot technology executive

Macy’s Inc. has hired former Home Depot Inc. technology executive Naveen Krishna as its chief technology officer.

He’s tasked with overseeing the store, e-commerce and internal-facing technologies for Macy’s. He’ll also manage the teams that build Macy’s e-commerce infrastructure and functional information technology support.

Krishna most recently was vice president of technology for Home Depot where he was in charge of user experience design, marketing technologies and customer care. Haw Lawton, president of Macy’s, No. 6 in the Internet Retailer 2018 Top 1000also worked for Home Depot as senior vice president, merchandising, from May 2005 to May 2015. 

Before working for Home Depot (No. 7), Krishna oversaw Target’s (No. 17) web technology and operations as director of Target.com. He has also held leadership positions at Deloitte Consulting and FedEx Kinko’s.

“We are investing in technology to improve digital and mobile experiences, site stability, store technology and fulfillment and logistics improvements,” said Lawton. “Naveen’s track record in omnichannel retail makes him the perfect fit to lead the Macy’s technology organization at this critical time.”
