Components distributor Arrow Electronics plugs in an updated ecommerce platform

A big components manufacturer plugs in an updated ecommerce platform

Arrow Electronics, a global provider of electronic components and enterprise computing products, unveiled its updated ecommerce platform.

A big selling point of the new ecommerce platform is a new B2B marketplace for North American buyers. The new features and applications appear on top of Arrow’s existing ArrowSphere cloud platform.

ArrowSphere’s new ecommerce platform functionality

“At the heart of every successful digital ecosystem lies a platform that serves the needs of buyers, sellers, contributors, and influencers,” says ArrowSphere global vice president Shannon McWilliams. “We have collaborated with our customers to develop new digital capabilities that give them a more seamless way to acquire and manage the IT solutions they deliver to their customers at scale.”

Based on customer feedback, the expanded ArrowSphere platform includes a range of new applications. Arrow Electronics will use them to quote, purchase, fulfill and manage with any combination of cloud, hardware, software and professional services, the company says.

“ArrowSphere is built for change and can address the complexities and speed at which business is done in the IT channel,” says Kristin Russell, global president of Arrow’s enterprise computing solutions business. “The expanded platform gives our channel partners the flexibility to move between capabilities, solutions, services, and functions — when and how they need to — to more efficiently manage their customer relationships while growing their own business.”

Applications included in Arrow Electronics’ new updates

The ecommerce platform features for ArrowSphere encompass several new or enhanced applications, such as:

With 2023 sales of $33 billion, Arrow Electronics boasts substantial sales volume for its electronic components and enterprise computing solutions. The company’s product portfolio includes capacitors, circuit protection, connectors, frequency control, magnetics, power supplies, relays and resistors.

“Over the year, we enhanced our digital distribution platform, ArrowSphere, while onboarding new channel partners and supplier lines, demonstrating our commitment to the market’s transition to IT as-a-service,” Arrow CEO Sean Kerins told analysts on a recent year-end earnings call, based on a transcript from SeekingAlpha.com.
