Oracle Corp.’s completion this week of its deal to buy e-commerce software firm NetSuite Inc. marked just one—though perhaps the most notable—effort by Oracle to expand in cloud-based software for businesses.
It’s a tall order with Amazon.com Inc., Alphabet Inc.’s Google and Microsoft Corp. deeply entrenched in the market.
