International e-retailer Cnova’s 2014 online sales jump nearly 20%

Cnova NV, which operates retail web sites across the globe including Cdiscount in France and Cnova in Brazil, had strong e-commerce growth in 2014.

For the 2014 fiscal year ended Dec. 31, Cnova, part of Groupe Casino, No. 5 in the Internet Retailer 2014 Europe 500, reported:

Cnova did not report net income for the full year or the fourth quarter.

Cnova in October filed an initial public offering document with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The company priced its IPO at $7 per share which would yield $188 million in new working capital.

Cnova operates Cdiscount sites in France, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Panama, Thailand, Vietnam, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Cameroon and Belgium. It also operates Extra.com.br, a Brazilian consumer electronics e-commerce site, and PontoFrio.com and Casasbahia.com.br, a pair of Brazilian electronics and home furnishings sites.

The company plans to enter international markets in Europe, Latin America, Asia and Africa, the company said in its IPO filing.

The retailer says it has 13 million active customers and offers more than 12 million products including consumer electronics, home goods and furnishings, and toys and games.
