In his role as SVP SAP Upscale Commerce, Charles’ mission is to reinvent commerce for the mid market. Charles is a proven innovator with a background in ecommerce, marketing, machine learning and buyer behavior.

Prior to this role, Charles has had roles in product development and product strategy focused on the intersection between commerce, marketing, customer experience and customer data solutions portfolio at SAP Customer Experience.

Before joining SAP, he founded SeeWhy, a company focused on applying machine learning to personalization which was acquired by SAP in June 2014, serving first as CEO then as chief strategy officer. SeeWhy grew from an idea, which he patented, into a leader in its field with more than 4,000 customers deployed on its multitenant SaaS platform. Prior to SeeWhy, he held a series of leadership, product and marketing roles at HNC, Sybase and Business Objects.

Charles is also a board advisor to several start-ups, the co-inventor of a real time machine learning patent, and serves as Chairman of the Conversion Academy.
