2022 Next 1000 Report

Generally speaking, online retailers performed better in 2021 if they weren’t among the largest in their space. North America’s leading small- to medium-sized online retailers posted year-over-year web sales growth of 22.8% in 2021—higher than their 19.9% web sales growth in 2020.

The Next 1000 retailers, ranked 1,001-2,000 by web sales, invested heavily in omnichannel this past year and reaped the benefits of expanding their customer service. 60.2% of Next 1000 retail chains offered buy online, pickup in stores (BOPIS) to entice shoppers and successfully compete with giants like Walmart and Target.

But is this pattern of small business growth a sign of what’s to come for ecommerce?

Digital Commerce 360’s 2022 Next 1000 Report has the answers. Built upon a year-long analysis of ecommerce sales and performance data, this report delivers exclusive ecommerce rankings and need-to-know trends in marketplaces and customer acquisition and experience.
