For marketplace sellers, competition is rising as more retailers and brands begin to sell on Amazon knowing that’s where U.S. consumers shop. In 2016, sales on the 10-largest marketplaces in the U.S. hit $387.71 billion globally. That’s up 15.9% for the year, ahead of the U.S. e-commerce market as a whole, which grew 15.5% last year. Much of that e-commerce growth is driven by Amazon, as the remaining nine marketplaces collectively grew just 7% for the year.
