A new arrangement between FedEx and Walgreens will allow consumers to have their e-commerce packages delivered to Walgreens stores for pickup. Consumers also would be able to drop off packages at the drugstores. The program is expected to launch in spring 2017 on a small scale and expand to thousands of Walgreen stores later in the year, with availability throughout the chain’s nearly 8,000 stores by fall 2018. “Our Walgreens stores will be able to accept pre-labeled and pre-packaged shipments, most likely at the existing photo department counter,” a Walgreens spokesman says. “Customers also can have a shipment delivered to the store and then pick it up at a time that is convenient for them.”
