Thrive Market is an e-retailer of organic and natural grocery products. Launched in November 2014, the e-grocer has raised $58 million in funding, convinced more than 180,000 online shoppers to pay a $59.95 annual membership fee to shop its site, and opened two distribution centers that make it possible for it to deliver orders in two or fewer days to most customers. Thrive Market currently ships to consumers residing in the continental U.S. but plans to expand to Alaska, Hawaii and Canada in the near future. “The idea for Thrive was born out of a realization that geography and affordability are the two major barriers in accessing healthy food,” says co-founder Nick Green.
