Adobe says online sales are up 19.8% so far in November, and an Internet Retailer analysis of traffic patterns suggests that Amazon’s share of holiday spending is up.

Online holiday shopping is off to a strong start, as new data released this morning from Adobe Systems Inc. suggests online sales increased 19.8% year over year so far in November.

Plus, on each day from Nov. 1-11 (Veteran’s Day), more than $1 billion was transacted on the web in the U.S., Adobe says. In 2016, only nine of those 11 days experienced more than $1 billion in sales.

Revenue from smartphones represented 24% of total purchases for the first 11 days of November and increased 40% year over year, while conversion rates across all devices grew by double-digit percentages:

  • Desktop: Conversion rate was 4.6% (21.7% growth)
  • Tablet: Conversion rate was 4.1%  (12.3% growth)
  • Smartphone: Conversion rate was 1.8% (16.2% growth)

Separately, Internet Retailer analyzed website traffic patterns so far this November, and found similarly strong results.
