Total retail sales in the category declined 3.5% in 2016, while online sales grew 2.7% year over year. The slower growth rate is partly due to flat results in online sales from a few large retail chains and consumer brands such as Dell Inc. (No. 4 in the Top 500 and No. 1 in the category) and Lenovo Group Ltd. (No. 15 in the Top 500 and No. 4 in the category).
