Navistar Inc. is hitting the road with a new chief digital officer.
The company, a leading manufacturer of commercial trucks, buses, and engines, has named Robert Oh as chief digital and information officer (CDIO). In the role, he will head up Navistar’s enterprise digital and information technology (IT) department.
Oh will be charged with accelerating “innovation and growth through the execution of a transformational digital roadmap, while modernizing and optimizing systems to ensure a safe and resilient digital ecosystem,” the company says.
Who is Navistar’s new chief digital officer?
“The introduction of a CDIO to our organization is a pivotal moment as we align our digital transformation initiatives with the importance of a secure, efficient, and connected IT infrastructure,” says Navistar CEO Mathias Carlbaum.
Prior to joining Navistar, Oh worked as executive vice president of corporate digital and chief operating officer of the digital innovation business unit at Doosan Group. Doosan Group is a South Korean conglomerate focused on sustainable energy, smart machines and advanced materials.
He also has worked as chief information officer and business transformation executive at Hanon Systems and as chief information officer at Masco Corp.
Navistar is part of the Traton Group, a subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group. It is also one of the world’s largest commercial vehicle manufacturers. Its brands include MAN, Scania, Navistar and the Volkswagen truck and bus brands.
Navistar’s sales revenue in 2023 was about 11 billion euros ($12.15 billion). In 2023, Navistar sold 88,900 vehicles, which is a 9% increase from 2022. Most of Navistar’s sales revenue comes from new vehicle sales, genuine parts, used vehicles and engine deliveries.
