ABC Television Network on Monday launched an e-commerce store, ShopABCTV.com that sells merchandise from shows such as “Dancing with the Stars,” “Desperate Housewives,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “How To Get Away With Murder,” “Lost” and “Scandal.”

The online shop was built on e-commerce technology provider Connekt‘s platform. The company operates “every aspect” of ShopABCTV.com under a license from ABC Television Network. Connekt also creates the officially licensed items, such as apparel, mugs, smartphone cases and more, and fulfills all consumers’ orders. The technology platform provider handles all customer service inquiries, rather than ABC. Connekt is in a “revenue-share agreement with ABC” to sell its licensed merchandise, the company says without revealing specifics.

While merchandise is only available from 11 ABC shows, the network plans to launch a number of other shows in the future. “The idea is to continue expansion on an ongoing basis,” says Mike O’Donnell, chief revenue officer at Connekt. “The shows listed are just the ones that we went to launch with. We are actively working to add more properties to the store, and viewers can expect to see more exciting products from other shows soon.”

ABC is promoting the new shop on ABC.com for those shows whose merchandise is included, with a Shop button in the top menu of the show-specific pages, as well as through social media and email marketing, he says.

Connekt also operates e-commerce shops for TV networks CBS and Showtime, as well as film studio Lionsgate, quick-service restaurant chain Dunkin’ and charitable organization Stand Up to Cancer.
