Qurate Retail Inc.—which owns several brands including TV and web retailer QVC Inc. and flash-sale site zulily.com—on Tuesday announced it has hired former Amazon.com Inc. executive Jeff Yurcisin as president of zulily.
Lori Twomey currently serves as interim president of zulily. After Yurcisin starts Aug. 15, she will continue as chief merchant of zulily. Twomey has served as chief merchant since she joined zulily in November 2009.
As president, Yurcisin will oversee zulily’s operations and its 3,200 team members, the company said in a press release announcing the hire.
Prior to zulily, Yurcisin spent 13 years at Amazon as vice president of Amazon Fashion’s private-label brands business, launching dozens of brands across women’s, men’s and children’s categories, including basics with Amazon Essentials, women’s apparel with Lark & Ro, women’s active apparel with Core 10 and children’s apparel with Spotted Zebra.
From September 2008 to August 2013, Yurcisin also served as CEO and general manager of online women’s fashion retailer Shopbop, a wholly owned, independently operated subsidiary of Amazon. Amazon acquired Shopbop in 2006.
“Jeff has a strong track record of inspiring his teams to defy convention, find new ways to delight customers and drive growth,” says Mike George, Qurate’s president and CEO. “Jeff will help us nurture and leverage the entrepreneurial spirit that makes Zulily such an asset for the entire Qurate Retail Group.”
During its last earnings report, Qurate says zulily generated $419 million in sales in the first quarter, a 16.7% increase from $359 million in the first quarter of 2017.

- Mary Campbell has been named chief merchandising and interactive officer for Qurate Retail Group, effective immediately.
- Aidan O’Meara will be president of Qurate Retail Group International, effective July 2.
