FTD hired Brita Turner as senior vice president and general manager of ProFlowers and Rob Van Auken as senior vice president and general manager of FTD.com.

Flower and gift retailer FTD Cos. Inc. has made a number of recent hires and promotions to bolster its e-commerce operations.

Since November, the retailer, No. 128 in the Internet Retailer 2017 Top 500, has hired Brita Turner as senior vice president and general manager of ProFlowers and Rob Van Auken as senior vice president and general manager of FTD.com. It also promoted Luke Massery to senior vice president and general manager of gourmet foods from vice president and general manager of gourmet foods. All three executives report to Simha Kumar, FTD’s executive vice president and chief operating officer.

From 2015-17, Turner was head of digital at Godiva Chocolatier Inc. (No. 376). Prior to that role, she worked from 2012-15 as e-commerce buyer for soft home and fashion at Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. (No. 68). She has also worked at Amazon.com Inc. (No. 1) and IBM Corp.

From 2014-17, Van Auken worked as divisional vice president and general manager, Sears Commercial, where he managed the Kenmore business-to-business unit and was responsible for sales, marketing, customer success, field operations and vendor management. Prior to that role, from 2011-14, he was Amazon’s divisional merchandising manager, consumer electronics. He has also worked at Best Buy Co. Inc. (No. 10).

Massery has worked at FTD since 2016. From 2011-16, he held a variety of roles at Groupon Inc. (No. 27), including vice president of sales for the U.S. local business and vice president, general manager of the Groupon Goods Europe business. He has also worked as a consultant at Bain & Co.

“These leaders bring extensive e-commerce, merchandising and digital marketing expertise, and their contributions will be invaluable to help drive FTD’s success over the next several years,” Kumar says.
