Govberg Watches’ Popular Watch App, Govberg OnTime, Relaunches with New Updates as WatchBox by Govberg.

PHILADELPHIA –  August 2, 2017:  Since its 2015 debut, Govberg Watches’ groundbreaking free watch app, Govberg OnTime, has been downloaded by more than 160,000 users.  With this growing popularity, the app now enters a second stage of development as WatchBox by Govberg, reaching a new level of sophistication with a redesign in functionality, user experience and aesthetic.

“Govberg’s ongoing investment in technology has been in the forefront of our continued success in this uncertain retail environment,” said Danny Govberg, President and CEO of Govberg Watches. “This rebrand of Govberg OnTime to WatchBox by Govberg reflects our ongoing strength in the Swiss watch category and our commitment to support the hobby of watch enthusiasts worldwide.  Whether just learning about Swiss watches before investing in that first significant timepiece or needing a streamlined system to manage an extensive collection, we’ve made WatchBox by Govberg to be that all-serving personal assistant.”

Considered revolutionary for bringing transparency to an otherwise enigmatic watch industry, the original Govberg OnTime app allowed users to discover how much a specific watch sold for over a twelve-month period, giving a benchmark for users to price their own watch for resale.  Since introducing this market value component, there have been more than 108,000 value searches.

With WatchBox by Govberg’s new enhancements, The Watch Pricing Guide feature has an even more advanced proprietary algorithm that factors secondary market analysis, estimated market value and recent market sales for over 80,000 unique models. The data is supplemented with description and details of each model, related news articles and purchase availability.

Also, enhanced in the update is the popular My WatchBox feature, which allows users to upload pictures of their watches into the app, providing an easily accessible virtual depository of ownership information, including purchase date and price, serial numbers, warranty details, service history and more.  Users can create wish lists and opt-in for notifications when a desired watch becomes available. My WatchBox integrates with The Watch Pricing Guide to display the current market value of each watch within the user’s collection, while providing a total estimated value for the entire collection.  With this feature’s popularity, the total collective value of all registered My WatchBox user collections currently exceeds $96 million.

New updates to the Shopping feature on WatchBox by Govberg has made it easier for users to buy, sell or trade watches.  Through the app, users have access to and can buy from Govberg Watches’ complete inventory of new and pre-owned watches and can choose to be alerted when a specific model becomes available.

Users can sell or trade their watches with Govberg concierge through the app’s updated Sell or Trade feature by providing identifying details (watch brand name, model, and reference number), disclosing whether box and papers are available, and uploading current pictures. If trading for another watch, users can also select up to four watches from the Govberg inventory to complete their trade.  A Govberg concierge will then contact the user to conclude the transaction.

The News feature has also expanded with WatchBox by Govberg.  In addition to being able to access the latest blogs and articles from favorite media, users can now view in-depth videos about various watches.  These videos are produced by Govberg’s own in-house studio and narrated by experts with specialized brand knowledge.  This added component to WatchBox by Govberg further enhances the app’s position as the ultimate mobile companion for the modern watch enthusiast.

WatchBox by Govberg can be downloaded free of charge on iOS devices from the App Store and on Android devices from the Google Play Store.
