The company yesterday acquired Muratec America Inc., which sells through a dealer network managed document and cloud I.T. services in North America. The Muratec deal follows Konica Minolta’s acquisition last week of TLS.net, a provider of cloud-based managed I.T. and telephony services. Konica Minolta did not disclose what it is paying for the two companies.

Muratec will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of Konica Minolta and be led by Muratec president Jim D’Emidio.

Rick Taylor, president and CEO of Konica Minolta, says his company and Muratec have a complementary lineup of products and services and will “create new synergies together.” Konica Minolta sells products and services online at ShopKonicaMinolta.us as well through dealers and online as well as store retailers.

With its acquisition of TLS.net, Konica Minolta expanded its range of workplace management systems with cloud-based telephony services. TLS.net will operate a part of Konica Minolta’s All Covered IT Services division. Phil Luzius, chief operating officer and owner of TLS.net, says the acquisition will result in the development of new cloud, voice and managed I.T. services.
