Internet sales of office supplies took off in the third quarter for Germany-based online reseller Büromarkt Böttcher, which posted its highest-ever quarterly sales figure.
Sales for the three months to the end of September were €53 million (US$58.61 million), Büromarkt Böttcher’s best-ever quarter, and Managing Director Udo Böttcher said the company is on track to top the full-year sales target of €200 million (US$221.19 million). The company sells online at Bueromarkt-ag.de.
In its half-year results three months ago, the company had already reported a sales jump of more than 60% and this impressive trend has continued, with growth driven by a strong increase in customer orders—up to 17,000 orders a day are now shipped—and continued product expansion.
At the beginning of October, Büromarkt Böttcher switched its logistics partner, moving to DHL, and it confirmed that a €5 million (US$5.53 million) upgrade to its supply chain operations would be completed next year.
