Surgical equipment manufacturer Boston Scientific plans to acquire EndoChoice Holdings Inc. for $210 million. The companies last week announced the agreement that will make EndoChoice’s endoscopic imaging products and services part of Boston Scientific’s endoscopy business. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter.

EndoChoice, No. 215 in the B2B E-Commerce 300, makes products and services for medical specialists treating a range of gastrointestinal conditions. Products include single-use devices, such as resection and retrieval devices, needles, graspers and infection control kits. The company also offers laboratory services and imaging technologies.

EndoChoice has more than 2,500 U.S. customers and works with distributors in 30 countries. It supports e-commerce with enterprise resource planning technology from NetSuite Inc., according to the B2B E-Commerce 300.

“We expect the acquisition to expand our leadership into new categories in the endoscopy market, and to drive strong, continued growth of our endoscopy business,” says Art Butcher, senior vice president and president, Boston Scientific, endoscopy.

Boston Scientific reported total sales for the year ended Dec. 31, 2015, of $7.48 billion, up 1% from the prior year. EndoChoice reported 2015 revenue of $72.3 million, an 18% increase from 2014. EndoChoice went public on the New York Stock Exchange in 2015.
