Brad Wilson spent the past five years at online travel agency Travelocity before joining the retailer.

Shoes.com is hoping a travel industry veteran can help its business continue to go places.

The Canadian online footwear retailer, No. 151 in the Internet Retailer 2016 Top 500 Guide, hired Brad Wilson as its president. Wilson started his new position with Shoes.com late last month, the e-retailer said in its announcement this week. CEO Roger Hardy had previously been both CEO and president. He’ll continue as Shoes.com’s CEO.

Wilson had spent the five previous years of his career with online travel agency Travelocity, joining the company as its chief marketing officer in May 2011 and becoming general manager in January 2015 after it was acquired by Expedia Inc. The move to Shoes.com marks a return to the online retail world for Wilson, who had spent four years with weight management products retailer Nutrisystem Inc. (No. 131 in the  Top 500), where he became the company’s senior vice president of brand and channel management.

“Bradley has an expansive understanding of the needs of our customer and will continue to look for innovative ways to serve them and our vendor community,” Hardy said. “We are thrilled to have him take the helm of Shoes.com and lead us through the next stage of growth.”

According to Top500Guide.com, Shoes.com grew its online sales by 149.9% year over year in 2015 to $223.0 million, up from $89.2 million in 2014.
