Preston Mosier, who spent 10 years at Amazon, will report to Arthur Valdez, who joined Target earlier this year from the online retail giant.

For the second time this year, Target Corp. has added an Amazon.com Inc. veteran to help lead its supply chain operations.

Target, No. 22 in the Internet Retailer 2016 Top 500 Guide, hired Preston Mosier to be its new senior vice president of fulfillment operations. Mosier was most recently vice president of operations at supply chain services provider Liquidity Services. Prior to joining Liquidity Services, Mosier spent 10 years in various roles at Amazon (No. 1 in the Top 500), most recently as general manager and director of operations, a position he left in 2011.

According to Mosier’s LinkedIn profile he led the opening and operation of an Amazon fulfillment and a replenishment center in Pennsylvania, overseeing teams of up to 4,500 employees. That experience will come in handy at his new role with Target, where he’ll be responsible for overseeing Target’s 37 distribution centers and improving Target’s e-commerce fulfillment operations, among other tasks. Mosier officially joins Target on Sunday.

Mosier will report to Arthur Valdez, executive vice president and chief supply chain and logistics officer. Target in late February announced it had hired Valdez from Amazon, and Amazon subsequently sued to block Valdez from joining Target, citing a noncompete agreement he had signed in June 2012. Amazon’s case against Valdez was quietly dismissed in April.

“Preston’s experience using technology and data to deliver smaller packages directly to consumers will help us continue building capabilities that will put product in guests’ hands even faster,” Valdez says.

Mosier is the second supply chain vice president hired by Target in the past two months. In late July, Target hired Ben Cook from Apple Inc. (No. 2) to be its senior vice president of global logistics, inventory allocation and replenishment.

In other Target e-commerce news, the retailer is selling a selection of shaving products made by e-retailer Harry’s Grooming on its website and in stores. In a blog post announcing the move, Harry’s (No. 493) confirms that this is the first time that it has sold its products through a retail chain. They’re not the first online-only retailer to make their initial entry into physical retail through Target. Healthy snacks subscription e-retailer NatureBox (No. 358) began selling a selection of its products in 900 of Target’s stores earlier this year.

Harry’s was a finalist for the Emerging E-Retailer of the Year Award at the 2016 Internet Retailer Excellence Awards, which were announced in June during the Internet Retailer Conference & Exhibition.
