The e-retailer opened an eBay store in the country to fuel more growth.

Online electronics retailer Newegg Inc. is launching an eBay store in Australia this week to expand its online presence in the country and complement its own e-commerce site.

Newegg, No. 17 in the Internet Retailer 2016 Top 500 Guide, launched its Australian e-commerce site at Newegg.com/global/au in 2014 with limited products. In November 2015, Newegg began fulfilling orders from within Australia and expanded the products available to Australian customers. It now ships about 7,000 product SKUs from within Australia, and an additional 41,000 products are available to Australian customers, shipped from North America. Australian revenue for Newegg grew 300% since November 2015, the company says.

“The strategy to expand Newegg’s international presence hinges on successfully reaching customers in key markets such as Australia,” says Newegg CEO Danny Lee. “In two short years our Australian operation has grown significantly, and we are committed to continuing growth in the months and years ahead.”

EBay.com.au is the fifth-highest ranking website in Australia, behind Google.com, YouTube.com and Facebook.com, according to Alexa, a web-measurement unit of Amazon.com Inc. Furthermore, eBay is the highest-ranking online retail site in Australia.

Newegg also has eBay stores in the United States and United Kingdom.
