The new Amazon Books will be in a mall in Portland, Ore.

Amazon.com Inc. plans to open its third Amazon Books store, this one in Oregon, and a fulfillment center in Georgia.

Amazon, No. 1 in the Internet Retailer 2016 Top 500 Guide, will have a store in the Washington Square Mall in Portland, Ore. The retailer didn’t give details about the store’s size or how many SKUs it will carry. A representative for the mall also declined to provide specifics about the store.

Job board Indeed.com shows Amazon is hiring for positions for the new bookstore, including an inventory management lead, associates and store management positions.

Amazon opened its first Amazon Books at the University Village mall in its hometown of Seattle late last year, a 7,400-square-foot location that carries 5,000-6,000 SKUs. Its second Amazon Books is set to open this summer at the University Towne Center Mall in San Diego. By comparison, a typical Barnes & Noble averages 26,000 square feet.

On Wednesday, Amazon said it will build a fulfillment center in Braselton, Ga., its third in Georgia. The new warehouse primarily will house gardening tools, household decor items and sporting equipment. It eventually will employ 500 full-time workers.

According to supply chain consulting firm MWPVL International, Amazon has 78 active fulfillment centers in the U.S. and 24 in planning or under construction.

Earlier this month, Amazon announced it will open an order pickup location near Texas Tech University. Called Amazon@Lubbock, the 2,700-square-foot facility will allow students to pick up Amazon orders, including textbooks and snacks.

Amazon has opened similar facilities on or near the campuses of other universities, including the University of Texas at Austin, Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind., and the University of California-Berkeley.
