When it posted its first fly-by image of Pluto, NASA hooked in hundreds of thousands of new followers on social media, social media manager John Yembrick said last week during a presentation at IRCE 2016.

With some 500 social media accounts for its many departments and even individual space missions, NASA garnered nearly 400,000 new social media followers within four days of posting the Pluto image. The exposure, Yembrick said, is helping to make NASA “relevant like never before.”
