Ashley Sargent Price will oversee Abercrombie’s online and offline marketing for each of the merchant’s brands.

Abercrombie & Fitch Co. is turning to a former J.Crew executive to oversee marketing. 

The multichannel retailer, No. 58 in the newly released Internet Retailer 2016 Top 500 Guide, hired Ashley Sargent Price as senior vice president and creative director of marketing.

Price will oversee both online and offline creative marketing for Abercrombie’s three brands—Abercrombie & Fitch, abercrombie kids, and Hollister Co.—as well as oversee the company’s internal photo studio and its marketing operations division.  She’ll report to Fran Horowitz, president and chief merchandising officer.

Prior to joining Abercrombie, Price was senior vice president of brand creative at J.Crew Group Inc. (No. 49 in the Top 500) where she oversaw creative teams for each of the retailer’s divisions, including, J.Crew, crewcuts and Madewell. Price has also held creative jobs at Anthropologie, Ann Taylor Loft, Gap Inc. and Urban Outfitters.

“Her experience overseeing creative for globally recognized brands will be valuable for us and she will play a significant role in evolving our brand positions,” Horowitz says.

Abercrombie reported declining sales and profit in its last fiscal year, which ended Jan. 30. Web-related sales rose to 24% of revenue from 22% the year before as the company closed bricks-and-mortar stores.
