The online marketplace will feature more than 50 items at the Etsy Shop inside Macy’s flagship store in New York City.

Online marketplace Etsy Inc. is looking to craft a larger presence in the physical world.

Etsy, No. 24 in the Internet Retailer 2015 Top 500 Guide, plans to open the Etsy Shop in Macy’s Inc.’s flagship store in Herald Square in New York City. The shop will give eight of the online marketplace’s designers a chance to showcase their wares, with shoppers being able to peruse from more than 50 offerings ranging from housewares to jewelry. Shoppers will be able to buy the items in store and take them home on the spot.

Macy’s (No. 7) isn’t the first to feature Etsy’s products in one of its bricks-and-mortar locations. Upscale department store chain Nordstrom Inc. (No. 19); home furnishings retail chain West Elm, which is owned by Williams-Sonoma Inc. (No. 20); and Indigo Books & Music Inc. (No. 251) have partnered with Etsy in the past. Nordstrom and West Elm both still carry Etsy products. At Macy’s, Etsy says it will update the selection being offered every month and a half to two months.

“For designers to showcase their products to a locally and globally diverse customer base in the exciting, selling environment of Herald Square, is an incredible opportunity for both wholesalers and customers,” Macy’s executive vice president Marc Mastronardi said in a blog post.

Through the first nine months of 2015 ended Sept. 30, Etsy reported gross merchandise sales of $1.647 billion, up 24.7% from $1.321 billion last year.
